As a lifelong fiction writer, I bring to the massage table my curiosity to listen to the unique story each body has to tell. Through touch, I seek to nurture the mind-body connection by bringing awareness to the parts of ourselves we take for granted. My approach to providing effective bodywork is to view the work as a conversation between my touch and your nervous system. By introducing the body to new sensory information, we open the door to unwinding long-held patterns and reestablishing ease & balance.
My past lives range from library clerk to sheep shearer, giving me a broad and deep understanding of how our labor impacts our bodies and an ability to tailor sessions to a wide range of folk. My specialty is rehabbing musculoskeletal injuries, and I recently spent 6 months earning an Orthopedic Medical Massage Specialist certification from the Academy of Clinical Massage in Sisters, Oregon. I can incorporate an array of therapeutic tools and techniques – cupping, hot stones, facilitated stretching, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques – into any session. At each visit, we will work together to develop a plan to meet your body’s evolving needs.
When I am not at the massage table untangling myofascial fibers, I can be found spinning yarns, in more ways than one, or being fairy goatmother to a herd of very spoiled goats.
