My name is Heidi and I have been in practice for 10 years. I have spent 4 of those years working in a clinical chiropractic setting. Before massage, I worked in State Parks and Ecological Restoration. Therapeutic massage was a career drawn from the positive impact of my personal healing experience. When the time was right, I returned to school to train so I could offer this work to others experiencing pain.
As a therapist, I would describe myself as a thoughtful and deep listener. I listen to both the stories my clients come in with of their pain experience, and what their body is communicating to me. I focus on the nervous system and offer the opportunity to open to new levels of proprioception and awareness, helping my clients to think about personal patterns that may not currently serving them.
My goal is to help bring my client’s nervous system to a place that can facilitate their body’s natural healing abilities, while reducing pain or discomfort, increasing range of motion and an overall sense of well being.
My natural style tends to be slow and deep with facilitated stretching and a myofascial focus. I incorporate Swedish, deep tissue, Trigger point, and Myofascial Techniques, and I am currently studying visceral manipulation and craniosacral therapies. I understand that every body is different on any given day. I intend to hold space and intention to meet the needs of each body holistically in that moment, creating a safe, supportive environment for every individual.
In my free time, I can be found with my family, or at the barn, caring for horses, and learning backcountry skills for clearing and maintaining multi-use recreational trails in Oregon.
My specialties are Myofascial work, Swedish, trigger point, cupping, hydrotherapy, visceral manipulation, and craniosacral.
